Why Is Posting Regularly Important?

Posting on Instagram and TikTok regularly is extremely important to help you reach new people and keep them engaged. Social media platforms reward consistency because they want fresh content to keep people engaged on their platforms.
The best “number of posts” depends heavily on your audience and how much time you can spend making good content. Here is some practical advice to help you.

Instagram

For Instagram, aim to post 3-5 times a week in your first two weeks. It is important to focus on quality over quantity when you’re first starting out, however it is even more important to stay consistent. Focus on getting better at creating actually good content before you try to post a lot. After the first two weeks, aim to post 6-7 times a week.

Try to post at times when your followers are most active. You can check your account's insights to find the best times, after you have given Instagram enough data. (should be available after two weeks roughly)

TikTok

On TikTok, I recommend posting once a day, for the first two weeks. TikTok's algorithm loves fresh content, so being consistent helps. But don’t post just to post. It’s better to share one good video than four rushed ones. After the first two weeks, I recommend posting 1 to 3 times a day. I also suggest posting your TikTok video at the same time as your Instagram post, ideally a few minutes before Instagram.

Keep in mind that the more GOOD content you put out, the higher your chances are of going viral. However, make sure your content is actually GOOD first, because 100 bad videos won’t beat one really good video.

Action Steps

  • Plan your posts ahead of time to make sure you stay consistent.

  • Focus on creating actually GOOD content first, then increase the quantity.

  • Schedule time to create videos (or images), ideally earlier in the day.

Consistency and quality are the keys. Stick to a schedule that works for you and keep improving as you go.
